The last time we were in a Chicago it was a cloudy day. We had made plans to take the kids up to the skydeck of the Willis(formerly Sears) Tower. We had read all about it. We learned it is the second(only second to the new World Trade Center) tallest building in the USA. Joah was so excited to see it. We got there and guess what? It was a cloudy day with zero visibility from the deck. They offered no discounts and we decided against going. Joah cried and was so disappointment. We promised the next time we came through Chicago we would try again. Yesterday evening was the perfect night. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky.

We dressed the kids up. We made a reservation at a nice restataunt with a dress code to eat at after we walked the skydeck.
It was a perfect view down. Joah surprised us by being a little scared. He was very nervous to take that first step out. We only got 90 seconds out in the deck. At first I thought “are you kidding me? It takes 90 seconds just to get one decent picture.” It really surprised me how long 90 seconds was. I think the guy in charge even gave us some extra time. Everyone watching was commenting things like “awe! Cute kids! There are so many of them! Wow! Are they all yours?”(I think this is my favorite question. No we just grabbed a couple extra on the walk in). We created quite a show. The guy in charge said to send our pictures in for a chance to have them featured on their website. We got some great pictures.

It was an incredible view. I thought Isla was going to be the one afraid, but there was absolutely no fear from that one. Like I said before, it was Joah who was nervous.
After we saw the skydeck, we ate at a restaraunt called The Metropolitan. It was on the 67th floor of the Willis Tower. We got a beautiful view of the city of Chicago from our table. The service and food there were amazing. Everyone was so friendly. They even gave us free dessert on the house. We were the only ones with kids there. Everyone was very sweet and welcoming. I can’t lie and say I had a great time. Not because of anything they did by any means. Isla was being absolutely terrible. Our reservation was not until 8pm. She has done so good up until last night. She was just done. She was tired and hungry. She was an absolute bear. She was being very abusive to me, slapping me several times. Then looking at me like “oh yes I did!” My patience as running thin after a long week of being on the run. We are all exhausted. I shunned her for the entire drive home. Today I love her again and she’s even a little cute again. Just a little bit. She still has a lot of redeeming to do.

Joah snapped this picture without me knowing. It captured my mood well. I was just so done. Brandon took her for awhile, but she wasn’t having either of us.

The culprit.
The other kids had a great time. Overall it was a great experience. I will definitely go back…..when I have zero babies.
This morning, Brandon is training while I let these crazies run loose in a play place. How they have any energy left, I have no idea.
They are climbing obstacle courses and jumping like maniacs.
Meanwhile I am drinking lots and lots of caffeine.
