Yesterday, Thursday, we took the kids to Manitou Cliff Dwelling. My Gascho family, our Yowler family, My aunt Brenda and three of her grandkids went. It was fun to walk around and see.

On the drive there, we just had Joah and the baby(she doesn’t really count though because she’s quiet). Basically we had one on one with J. Brielle rode with Brenda and Caed rode with my parents. We took Joah to get his first frappe. He chose a seriously strawberry frappe. He was so excited and felt so special. He was convinced he was drinking coffee. Shhhh. Don’t tell him.
We had a minor incident on the drive from the cliff to Royal Gorge. Caed wet his pants. I didn’t have a spare set of pants for him, but I did for Brielle. He sported these shorts for the rest of the evening.

Brandon told him he looked beautiful. He got really mad. He pointed his angry finger and said “daddy, I am not a girl. I’m just a Caed boy.”
Once we got to the Royal Gorge, we rode the aerial gondola ride. The view was amazing.

We took the gondola ride across then walked back on the bridge. It was a very pretty walk.

We saw three mountain goats down below the bridge through a crack in the bridge. There was only room for two kids at a time to look. Brielle did not take it well when her turn was over.

The kids were watching for uncle Evan, who was doing the zip line. There was a guy who came up to us and said he had an extra zip line ticket and needed to leave because his kids were getting tired. He gave Evan his ticket. The line to get on the zip line was pretty long, so we all watched for awhile. At first people were flying down the line. Then the wind direction chanced. We watched as this poor teenage girl got stuck right in the middle of the line. I saw her look of panic. Her family was yelling at her to kick her legs. She couldn’t hear. The zip line workers got out a megaphone and yelled directions at her. She kicked her way to the end. She did great about not panicking until she got to the very end and got off. I think it hit her once she saw her family. Poor poor girl. We made a family decision to not text Evan since he had just waited in line an hour. Plus it might be somewhat funny to see him get stuck. You’re welcome Evan. Next came Evan plus this other young teenage boy(there were two people zip lining at a time). Evan had gotten to know the kid while standing in line so long with him. The kid told him he was very nervous and it was his very first zip line ride. Evan came flying to the end. This kid too got stuck….this time even farther back than the teenage girl. This boy must have been in some amazing shape. He kicked his way all the way to the end in about 2 minutes and was smiling the whole time. What an experience! It’s one we will all remember. I’m sure it will go down in history for those poor two kids as their only zip line ride.
