We drove through the Ozark Mountains today and oh.my.word! Terrifying doesn’t come close to covering. It took us 2 hours to drive 60 miles. There were so many 10mph turns. There were no side rails. We have one regret about this RV and that’s that we didn’t get a diesel. It just can’t handle the mountains especially towing a van behind. Not only is the drive hard but getting gas is too. We have to pull into regular gas pumps instead of the diesel stops for all the trucks. We have had some difficult squeezes into gas stations. Yesterday we pulled into one and it’s always my job to get out and direct brandon to the pump. Well everyone is super friendly here and we had an entire audience join in. Brandon barely made it to the pump. I had to move a flower pot and a trash can but there was a gentlemen who took right over for me and moved everything. He then started directing brandon to the pump and everyone cheered when Brandon made it successfully. It was pretty hilarious
We made it safely to Eureka Springs thanks to Brandon’s incredible driving skills. In the words of Joah “stop worrying mom. Dad can do anything.” It was the hardest drive yet, but it all turned out well. I’m thankful we made it. I’m thankful I’m not pregnant. I would have for sure been puking my guts out. I’m also thankful my kids don’t get car sick. Caed and Isla slept right through the whole thing and Joah and Brielle were loving it the whole time.
We stopped at a scenic overlook to take a little break. It was so beautiful. Joah and Brielle were both taking pictures with their cameras.
We made it to our campground in Eureka Springs and this is total wilderness. This is the drop off behind our RV. We are right up in the mountains. Caed and Brielle both face plant fell on our walk to the playground. Joah was upset because we wouldn’t let him ride his bike. Ummmm…..no. He got over it and he lived.
