Sometimes Brandon licks raw chicken

You might be wondering about my title. I can’t say I blame you. One of the most annoying things about motor homing is the fridge situation. With all the driving, turns, and bumps the fridge gets bumped open pretty often. Keep in mind, that each RV comes with locks on the fridge, but sometimes the locks fail. Well, yesterday the fridge flew open a few times since we were driving through mountains and wind all day. That’s not the worst that happened though. We didn’t realize until late last night that there was this pink liquid that was all over the fridge. What does Brandon do you ask? He licks it to figure out what the heck it was. This is where my title comes in. He licked raw chicken juice. I had a huge bag of chicken breasts in the fridge. Somewhere along the bumpy ride yesterday, the bag got poked open causing a slow leak. Brandon, like the detective he is, figured out for me what the liquid was. Thank you Brandon. And for those wondering, at 4am our fears came true. Brandon got the raw chicken sh$:&.

Today is a new day, with hopefully no major mishaps. We stayed in Cheyenne, Wyoming last evening. Today we drive to Utah. Brandon has several store trainings in Utah. Utah is one of our very favorite states. It’s so beautiful and we have made a few friends that we like to visit each time we travel there.

Life has been very busy for us lately. We have been taking every opportunity to hang with friends and family. I have such a greater appreciation for relationships since covid. My kids are started back to school. I know we have only been going a couple weeks, but can I just say what an amazing difference in attitude I’m seeing from my oldest. He has been compliantly and diligently working. His attitude has been great and he has been eager to complete his work. This is a COMPLETE answer to prayer. Last year I ended the school year feeling discouraged and defeated. Over the summer, I spent so much time praying and surrendering. We took Joah’s iPod away completely. I really pushed outdoor time. I started him on a couple vitamin supplements and have been using some essential oils on him daily. Brandon’s skepticism doesn’t discourage me. 😊 Joah has been like a different child this year and I’m excited again to be homeschooling.

We are working on a home remodel back at our house in Michigan. We are adding a huge living room and garage and we are digging basement under the living room. There really has been a great debate over what to do about our housing since we travel pretty often. But the reality is, we will always have a home base. The time is now with the age out kids are at. I don’t want to wait another 5-10 years and have teenagers. At that point a house remodel wouldn’t make sense. So we are building in faith and looking forward to making tons of memories in a bigger house. I can’t even tell you how thankful I am and how much I’m looking forward to having more space.

We are obviously traveling again. Life has to go on and business has to go on. Brandon is working hard on selling furniture and keeping our workers employed. My brother and parents are working hard at keeping the plant running as smoothly as possible with all these set backs from the pandemic. We are thankful and blessed. During the long stay at home, I actually started to miss traveling. As overwhelming as it can be, I’m thankful to get out again.
