This trip has slowly come to a close. We are headed home either tonight or tomorrow morning. I think God started preparing me for Michigan again.

Yesterday, He sent a downpour of snow to Cedar City, Utah. Brandon’s cousin said it was Cedar’s biggest snowstorm of the year. I couldn’t believe how fast the storm came. Somewhere in my grocery shop, it started really snowing. By the time I got done shopping, the roads were really bad. My drive back to the motor home was brutal. It was a very wet, slushy snow. I couldn’t see the road, so I couldn’t tell what lane I was in. Luckily, we made it back safely.

We have been in Cedar City, Utah for several days now. My kids know this place well, and have great memories here. We stay at Brandon’s cousins’s place, where he lives with his wife and in laws.

We love the mountain scenery here. The outsiders is where we prefer to be. Until yesterday evening, the weather was perfect. We played outside in short sleeves.

We love to walk down the drive and play with the neighbors here. They have a little girl two weeks older than Isla. It’s fun to watch the girls play together.

Brandon took Joah hunting up in the mountains one night. This resulted in no sleep for Carla. I let Brielle and Caed sleep with me. Isla ended up waking up in the night and joining us too. You can see how much room was left for me.

One of my favorite things in Cedar City is their thrift store. Dessert Industries is the nicest thrift store I’ve ever been to for kids’ clothing. Utah is filled with kids and they all have lots of church outfits. The prices are very reasonable. I pretty much got the kids their entire wardrobes for the next year, with the exception of Easter and Christmas outfits. I’m cheesy and like to get them matching outfits for that.

Joah’s favorite thing we did here was go to Snow Canyon State Park. We explored a dormant volcano. We got to see where the lava once flowed. Joah told us this was a dream come true for him.

I always have mixed emotions about heading back. I’m a little sad this trip is at an end. I’m excited to get back though, after being gone so long. I’m looking forward to seeing family and friends, after not seeing them for so long. I always dread and feel anxious about the amount of work that awaits me when I get back. It’s so overwhelming to think about all the unpacking. I try to deep clean the motor home after each trip. There’s just always lots to do. It always works out. After about a week of readjusting to home, we all love being back.
