We are staying at the same KOA that Isla cracked her head open at last year. So I don’t have the most awesome memories here. I saw the exact swing that hit her and that whole memory came flooding back to me. It was the blue one. She went running right behind it, as Caed was swinging full speed. It happened so fast, I couldn’t stop it. You can imagine my guilt, because I was literally right there and watched the entire thing happen. There’s no blood on the horse anymore. I checked. They bleached it.

This stay, I’m focusing on making new memories. I am thankful her little head has healed so well. She barely even has a scar. Those doctors did an great job, and I would highly recommend San Antonio Children’s hospital. Everyone was amazing.

You can barely even see the mark between her eyes now. Side note….. these suckers have been life changing. Isla still needs to be in a car seat while we drive the motor home. Meltdowns are prevented thanks to these.

Before we left Houston, Brandon had a meeting with a furniture buyer. Brandon had heard that this store was very family friendly and had tons to do. Back in 2017, after the hurricane happened, the buyer of this store opened his doors to anyone needing shelter. He literally had people sleeping in beds and eating off tables.
This store was awesome. It was very unique and so welcoming. They had live monkeys and parrots. They had a huge jungle gym for kids to climb, along with a climbing wall. They also had a huge jump pad made out of mattresses.

We saw transformers on the walk inside.

The first thing greeting us when we walked inside the door, was a table full of candy. Joah said “this is the best store training dad has ever had.”

Thank goodness there was a huge mattress jump pad. The kids were able to burn off the energy from their candy.

They had a seesaw.

My kids’ favorite were these slides, where they could race. Isla learned quickly if she took her socks off, she could climb all the way up the slide. 🤦♀️

The monkeys were so fun to watch. This guy and Isla kept sticking tongues out at each other. They got along great. She loved watching the monkeys climb. She kept clapping her hands.
We drove to our next campground after Brandon’s meeting.

We went for our first swim this year. I can’t lie and say this was a nice warm swim. It was 75 degrees and warm enough. It definitely wasn’t Florida in July,(where we were last year) but I’m not complaining. I even joined the kids and swam. It felt great to get some exercise. I went for a walk last evening and have hopefully gotten back into the swing of getting a little exercise each day. It really helps my mood.

We swam for an entire hour. We went back to the motor home and finished school. Then we went to our favorite restaurant in San Antonio. It’s the best Mexican restaurant we’ve ever been to. We discovered it the last time we were here. It’s called Alamo Cafe. It is amazing. Brielle and Isla are in love with the queso. My boys prefer the salsa.

This pic was taken before the meal, during extreme hunger from swimming an hour.

Ahhhh everyone is fed and well.

She’s back to her goofy little self.

We watched them make tortillas.

Now we are headed back to camp to play on the playground, then go to bed. For those curious, yes I will allow my kids to swing. I mean you can’t keep them in a bubble. I will just watch them very closely.
