Dallas, Texas

We drove for 5.5 hours from Little Rock to Dallas. The drive was fairly uneventful until our windshield wiper fell off right during a downpour of rain.

Luckily, it didn’t detach completely. It flew around the corner and was hanging by a thread. There was a Loves gas station up the road a few miles. Brandon drove to it, and thankfully they have truck parking and a part repair shop.

Brandon is pretty handy when he needs to be. He knew what part to buy and how to attach the new part. $20 and 20 minutes later, we were on our way again.

I’m thankful it was such an easy fix. I was worried we would need to drive to an RV shop and wait for hours. That happened the last time we lost a wiper. This time, It all worked out.

Turns out Dallas is not Orlando. Hello 40 degrees, rain, and cold. The kids were envisioning swimming, and I had to break the news to them that that would not be an option.

We followed our cowboy to our campsite.  Caed said “this cowboy is taking us to the greatest place on earth.”

Since it was raining and cold, we decided to take it easy tonight. We completed school when we got to our campground. Then we ran to Walmart to pick out a couple things.

Brielle noticed these Texas coffee mugs.

Now it’s back to the motor home to make dinner and chill the rest of the evening. Good thing we have been to Dallas before.  This time has been a little bit on the painfully boring side. There’s always next time. In the meantime, I need to remind myself we don’t need constant action and constant entertainment. It’s good to have these quiet, restful days. Plus we have 98 cable channels. Thank you Dallas Arlington KOA Arlington.
