Weekend at Home

We got home at 5am Saturday morning. I lasted until 2:30 am. I was trying so hard to keep Brandon awake. After 2:30 I failed. I told him just pull over if you need to. He got us all the way back to the shop, which is where we park our motor home. We finished the night in the motor home. All of us slept until 9:30. Then we woke up and began loading up our vehicles and driving them back home to be unpacked. After a regular camping trip, it’s a lot of work unloading the camper. After motor homing for 5 months, you can’t begin to imagine the work it is to unpack everything. My mom kept Isla for me all day Saturday and all day Sunday. That was so helpful. I put the other three kids to work helping. We survived. We went to church and everything Sunday morning. We showed up a hot mess. Brandon oversaw the kids getting shoes on. Caed showed up to church with two entirely different shoes. Oops. Joah was complaining of a headache all morning. I figured he was just being whiny. Well, he was carrying on and getting loud(during the service). I took him out of the service ticked and upset at him for misbehaving. All of the sudden he took off running towards the bathroom. He threw up. I then felt guilty for not taking him seriously. As soon as he threw up, he felt much better, but we still left church. I didn’t want to send him to Sunday School in case he was sick. He never did puke again or show any other signs of sickness. I think his body was just readjusting. He’s the child that has the very hardest time with the back and forth and being out of routine. Emotionally, physically, and in every way, it takes him a long time to readjust. Unfortunately, we were only home for 3 days. So he is still out of whack, but doing ok.

I hired a babysitter on a Monday and repacked for everyone for this next week. The babysitter did school with the kids and took care of them so I could work. Brandon and myself are headed to North Carolina for Furniture Market. My kids are headed to Ohio to stay with Aunt Bethany and Grandma. They are each taking 2 kids then switching kids half way through the week. My mom and I dropped the kids off in Ohio on our drive to Furniture Market.

Grandma has bought each kid a suitcase with their name. Joah was the only one who I packed in the Mickey Mouse suitcase, just because his clothes are getting a little big for the other.

Each time we drove to the shop, to get a load of stuff from the motor home, we had to go visit the baby goats. My dad has several goats in the little barn at the shop. There were 8 baby goats born while we were gone. There was 1 set of triplets, 2 sets of twins, and 1 single baby born. You can see the little baby screaming out in agony as my kids were “loving on them.” I had to break the news to the goats that we are home now for good. They were very stressed about it.

Our other favorite thing to do at the shop is pick apples from the apple trees. We pick apples while we watch the goats run around outside in the pasture.

We met up with some friends at the park and went on a little nature walk together.

Isla had some birthday presents waiting for her when we got home from grandparents.

Grandma Yowler got her an ice cream set, since ice cream is her favorite.

I am looking forward to having a kid free week. I’ll be spending lots of time with Brandon and working along side him this week. I am looking forward to it(now that all the unpacking and repacking are done)!
