Jamestown Settlement

Joah made a sign that said free seashells. We asked him why he wrote that they were free. He said his first goal was to draw customers. 🤣 The owner of the campground ended up coming by. She told us to come up to the camp store and she would buy each of the kids some ice cream. The kids were very excited about that.

The Virginia Beach KOA Campground we stayed at was huge. It was like a resort. The pools were huge. They had water slides and inflatables. They had tons of activities. The beach was really close by. The campground offered trolly transportation to the beach. We had a great time. We had more than enough to do at the campground while Brandon did his store trainings. A couple days ago, after Branson was done training, we drove to the Jamestown Settlement. Brandon had been there before as a kid. He knew it would be a good educational field trip.

Checking out the bunks

It was a really fun and really hot day. The heat really takes it out of you. We were all exhausted by the time we were done. We drove over to Williamsburg and walked around for a little while. On the drive back to camp, we were hoping to tour the navy ships. Unfortunately their entire system crashed for the day and they weren’t offering any tours that day. It was a total freak thing that obviously couldn’t be prevented. Brandon and Joah were disappointed, but hopeful for the next time we head this way.
