Before jumping right into the beach, I’ll cover our schooling. This week we started back to school. Sickness caused us to spend more time than usual in the motor home. We are three days in now. Last Summer, I started school with Joah before the public schools started. It gave us a nice jump start. I had about twenty extra days to work with during the school year by starting early, which I loved. It gave us more freedom to travel and have some free days from the work books. Traveling itself provides so many learning opportunities and field trips. My kids are learning and growing and much more aware of the world around them, then I ever was growing up.
This school year is different for me, as I have two kids in school now. It’s been an adjustment. Joah is in 1st grade and Brielle is in kindergarten. Brielle is very eager to learn and cooperative, which is a huge blessing. Joah is actually enjoying this year more, because he’s not the only kid required to complete his school work. I tried a new curriculum this year called My Father’s World. We are only three days in, but so far I love it. I researched a lot this year before I ordered the curriculum. I wanted something that is strong in Biblical teaching, character building, and academics. I have not been disappointed yet. It is strong in all three. Our reading materials have provoked some deep questions. The work books are also great. So far Joah is reviewing information he already knows from last year, so he is loving it. I keep telling him it will get harder as we keep going. We have a reward system in place for good attitudes, and so far so good.

Yesterday, the kids wanted to make a lemonade stand at the camp. I told them I didn’t have any lemonade mix. They came up with a new plan to sell random items.

They have also learned to make boxes out of paper and tape. Brielle loves to gather up outdoor things like leaves.
