We traveled from Texas to Louisiana, and have been staying there the last few days.
Our one campground was all cement, which made Joah very happy. It was a hover boarder’s dream.

We warned the kids to not get too close to the water, because Louisiana is full of gators. Caed was the child who took this the most seriously. He was very nervous about gators.

The last time we were in lousinana, we ate gator bites. We wanted to do that again. All of the kids like them. I thought they tasted much better this time than last time. Last time they tasted really gamey to me. This time they tasted like chicken….probably because we got them deep fried instead of grilled .
We have been doing lots of swimming.

We’ve been outside almost constantly, other than driving the motor home
Joah’s been eating alligator poop.
Brielle’s been dropping and shattering I-watches(accidentally).
The very coolest thing we did during our stay in Louisiana was a swamp boat tour.
On the walk in, we found(what we learned later from our tour guide) the biggest grasshopper in the USA. This is only a baby. They get twice as big. Joah picked him up, then threw him and he grabbed onto my shirt. I mildly panicked. Isn’t Joah hilarious? Like father like son. 🤦♀️
We first looked at gators behind a fence. Caed said “oh mom! The green moss is beautiful!”
If you look closely, you can spot the gator.
I couldn’t believe how many alligators we saw on our boat tour. We easily spotted over 30 of them.
We saw some other animals too.
We loved the end of the tour. Our guide passed some things around for us to see. Here is some Spanish moss.

Here are some crawfish.

Here are some turtles.
The very last surprise was this baby alligator. The kids were so excited.

We also passed around a turtle shell.
The boys were excited about that.
After the swamp tour, we went over to Bass Pro Shop. We went last year when we were here. Joah has been talking about the swamp themed Bass Pro since last year.
We watched the sunset outside, then headed inside.
The swamp theme looked so cool.

They had ducks that would swim in the pond, then get out and walk through the store.

Joah loved looking at the hogs.

They had a huge turtle.

And lots of fish.

Now today we are on our way to Missouri. We have a 12 hour drive ahead of us. Luckily our kids are pretty exhausted and wore out. I took them swimming this morning during Brabdon’s store training, so they would travel well today. At least that is the hope!
