Fort Worth Stockyards and Rodeo

Brandon went to his store training this morning and I had to keep the kids entertained. It was almost 100 degrees today, and water is pretty dangerous by myself. So we chose ceramic painting.

In other words I paid $10 for him to blob a bunch of colors together that looked a little like barf when mixed. He painted for about 5 minutes, then next thing I know he has both hands and arms in the center water bucket on the table. I asked him what In the world he’s doing and he answered “I’m washing my hands nice and clean.” I rushed him to the bathroom to wash him up. I come back to an entire dumped water bottle thanks to Isla scooting herself over to the table(while in the stroller) and grabbing it off the table. While I was cleaning up the water bottle Isla grabbed the table cloth and spilled and splattered the paint all over the floor and dropped Brielle’s ceramic that she was in the middle of painting. Luckily it didn’t break, but her paint got smudged. It was at this point in time I asked myself “why do I have kids again?” Oh yes….they are a blessing!

We came back to the motor home and rested and recovered emotionally. We waiting for Brandon to get back so we could leave and head up to the stockyards.

I meant to get a picture, but frankly I was dealing with 75% of the children pooping during dinner, and the picture was forgotten.

Joah and Brielle were brave enough to ride the Texas longhorn again. Caed was once again scared. And yes, for those wondering, this thing is real.

They had Texas longhorn fur chairs.

I was right there with her. She started crying and said “that is so mean!” I agree. There were a couple calf’s that got away and she cheered and clapped.

There was a sheep herding portion of the rodeo for kids. All 3 of our oldest kids did it. They were trying to be the first to remove a piece of duct tape from the sheep. Joah came very close to winning, but didn’t quite make it. The kid is fast though! He was passing most other kids.

It was a very fun and very tiring day. We will all sleep good tonight.
