Life as a Yowler

How was that for a blunt beginning? Honestly, I don’t have enough brain power left at the end of the day to come up with new titles each blog.

So last Friday I get a call from Brandon, “pack up we are headed to Frankenmuth after work.”  I can’t say I handled it totally wonderful, but I chose a decent attitude. I mean, I know it’s a great opportunity to go. I just despise packing and unpacking. I usually pack the bare minimum and have made the mistake of forgetting major things. If we’re lucky it’s just something minor like underwear or socks. We ate at the Brewery then headed to Bavarian Inn for the night.

We left the little bug with my mom for the night. We missed her slightly, but loved the full night of rest.

I was really surprised how much they’ve improved the Bavarian Inn. I haven’t been there since I was a kid. They have two water slides that were really fun. We even talked Caed into coming down with me. He used his famous pointer finger(the middle finger) and was like “ok, I will only go down this slide one time.”

He mostly just stuck around the fountains though.

Notice how all the other children are swimming angelically In the pool. Then there are my two messing with the water gun. 🤦‍♀️

Not sure what they’re trying to pose as, but they seemed to all have the same idea.

Saturday morning my parents were coming to Saginaw, so they drove Isla to us.

After we did our shopping for the business, we decided to go to Sky Zone. Huge huge mistake. Has anyone ever tried going on a Saturday. I mean I’m all about my kids getting their energy out, but I am most definitely not about people. They are the worst. So we came up with a plan B. Birth Run has a place called Spring Break. It is way less crowded and just as fun. They have tons of blow up toys.

Joah was very sweet and helped his little sister.

When we ate dinner we said “ok Isla, what would you like? Chicken? Spaghetti?” She gets out her little pointer finger and goes straight to the ice cream “owce reem.”

On a different note, in case anyone was wondering, a big Sams Club carton of blueberries lasts us one single breakfast in this home.

A Few days later Brandon took the kids to Chuck e Cheese. I met up with him later and joined in for the rest of the afternoon. Brandon won the kids 3000 tickets  🤦‍♀️

The kids decided together on a gum ball machine to get with their 3000 tickets. They told us “that’s our very last gum ball machine we have.” On the walk out to the car a couple ladies were coming in. They saw the kids carrying the gum ball machine. They said “I sure hope that’s not the last one.” We said “oh boy it actually is.” They laughed. They told us the one lady’s son had a birthday party there the day before. He didn’t have enough tickets to get it but really wanted it, so she promised she would drive back the next day and get it for him.” We felt terrible and said we were so sorry. They were totally understanding and said not to worry at all about it. After we loaded the kids we saw they were still parked In the parking lot. We talked to our kids and told them “I really think you should give away the machine to the little boy who had a birthday.” Two of them cried, but we told them to really examine their hearts and not be selfish. Our kids have so much and they are given so much, birthday or not. They go so many places and will have other opportunities to win prizes.  They all agreed and went and gave it to the mom. She was blown away. I want our kids to be raised to appreciate what they have. I don’t want them to be entitled and selfish. I want them to be generous and think of others before themselves. They sure are blessed, and I want them to know how to bless others.
