Busy, Long Weekend

We made it back home late Wednesday. Before the business trip plans were made, we had made plans to meet up with some friends at Splash Village. Splash Village is an indoor water park in Frankenmuth, MI. It’s a great Winter acitivity. We’ve gone every year for the last five years. Thursday morning Brandon ran to work. I stayed home and unpacked, did laundry, and re-packed. Thursday afternoon we headed to Frankenmuth. Aunt Bethany drove Isla up to us from Ohio and met us at Splash Village. Grandma Yowler and Bethany both took great care of her while we were away. Grandma fed her well, in fact I think she got her to eat more than I even can.

We were so happy to see her. We all missed her like crazy. The very first thing she wanted to do when she saw me was nurse. I was excited about that.

She and Joah have the sweetest bond. They were so happy to see each other.

Bethany brought outfits for each kid. Gymboree is going out of business and had some great deals. I’m so sad about them going out of business. They have great color coordinating outfits for boys and girls amd we’ve gotten lots of holiday outfits there.

She also brought Brielle a birthday gift. It’s an accessory for her American Girl Julie doll.

Joah was big enough to ride down the big slides by himself this year. He did over and over. Brandon and I both raced him down several times. After I beat him twice, he said “I think I’ll ride by myself again, mom.”

After Splash Village, we went out with the Hortons go see the new LEGO movie.

It was really cool timing becaus Aunt Bethany ended up taking Caed and Brielle home with her to Ohio for a couple days. She took them to Lego Land, where they had an exhibit for the new movie.

It was a good time for these two to bond. They are only 14 months apart in age, and like twins in a lot of ways. They had a great time with their aunt. She always does so many crafts and activities with them, and they come home exhausted. She took them to LEGO land, did crafts and baked cookies, and took them to a museum.

I wanted Joah to stay home to focus on his school. We did some fun things with him too, in the evenings.

We took him to a Saginaw Spirit Hockey game. We sat right by visitor bench right by the glass. We got a very up close view of the game. There were even two fights. Joah loved that a little too much. He saw some bigger kids beating their fists on the glass. He caught onto that very quickly even Isla was banging her little fists.
