Busy, Long Weekend

We made it back home late Wednesday. Before the business trip plans were made, we had made plans to meet up with some friends at Splash Village. Splash Village is an indoor water park in Frankenmuth, MI. It’s a great Winter acitivity. We’ve gone every year for the last five years. Thursday morning Brandon ran to work. I stayed home and unpacked, did laundry, and re-packed. Thursday afternoon we headed to Frankenmuth. Aunt Bethany drove Isla up to us from Ohio and met us at Splash Village. Grandma Yowler and Bethany both took great care of her while we were away. Grandma fed her well, in fact I think she got her to eat more than I even can.

Gymboree is going out of business and had some great deals. I’m so sad about them going out of business. They have great color coordinating outfits for boys and girls amd we’ve gotten lots of holiday outfits there.

Joah was big enough to ride down the big slides by himself this year. He did over and over. Brandon and I both raced him down several times. After I beat him twice, he said “I think I’ll ride by myself again, mom.”

They are only 14 months apart in age, and like twins in a lot of ways. They had a great time with their aunt. She always does so many crafts and activities with them, and they come home exhausted. She took them to LEGO land, did crafts and baked cookies, and took them to a museum.

I wanted Joah to stay home to focus on his school. We did some fun things with him too, in the evenings.

There were even two fights. Joah loved that a little too much. He saw some bigger kids beating their fists on the glass. He caught onto that very quickly  even Isla was banging her little fists.

It was a fun few days, but I’m ready for some time at home again. No more packing and un-packing again for awhile, please.
