Travel Day

Today did not start out the greatest. Long story short we had to take Caed to Urgent Care. Poor Little guy has been fighting a cough for a few days. Last night he was absolutely miserable. He barely slept from coughing all night.

I kept trying to talk to him and he said, “mom, no more questions please.” 🤣 While I didn’t like that Caed was sick, I did like the alone time I got with him. It’s so rare that I get alone time with my kids. He was so snuggly and sweet.

These trips aren’t the easiest on the kids(parents either). The kids are being dragged all over the place. They are out of routine, and staying up late, and traveling a ton. It’s hard on their little bodies. With all that being said, we still feel it’s worth it. The memories made and the intentional family time are more valuable than the difficulties. Little Caed just has a really nasty cold. He had mucus draining everywhere. His eyes, his ears, and his throat are all sore from the cold. I was just thankful his lungs were clear. His cough sounds terrible, but no bronchitis and no phenomena. I told the doctor I didn’t want to mess around. We are traveling and I want to fight this aggressively. He was very supportive and agreed. He prescribed him an antibiotic and some eye drops. Hopefully he is back to himself shortly.

They very graciously volunteered to watch Joah and Brielle for us while Brandon got the oil changed on the van and I took Caed to the doctor. What a blessing that was. Mrs. Bybee is so wonderful with our kids. She keeps them busy with all kinds of crafts and educational activities. She also puts them to work and has them help with food prep. They were in great hands. We are so thankful for their willingness to help us.

Brandon has one more store training tonight in Vegas. Then we are going to drive the strip. I’m looking forward to seeing it lit up at night. And for those of you thinking this seems like a big vacation, we still have 6 hours of driving to do tonight to make it to the next destination for Brandon’s morning training. I’m more stressed about it than Brandon. He never swears the details. He just goes with it then becomes a grump later when he’s sleep deprived. If you think about it, his method is probably better because I’m just a stressed grump the whole time.
