Safety Goggles

My dad used to force my brothers to wear safety goggles every time they would have a rubber band gun fight. Now trust me, there was some making fun of him over his cautious ways. Well let me tell you, he has WAY more wisdom than any of us gave him credit for. Eyes are some of the most important things in the world. They literally affect everything. If one of them is down and throbbing excruciatingly, then that’s going to make for a huge grump of a Carla.

Just when things were really turning around for me….like my eyeball was 99% healed, I was snuggling with the little Breezers tonight. We were reading books and laughing. All the sudden, she smacks me at just the right angle with the corner of a book right in the eyeball…..the bad eyeball…..the corneal abrasioned eyeball. Boom! My eye re-swells shut. Boom! My eye and entire head start throbbing. Boom! I can’t open my eye because of the bright lights. Now the good news in all of this is I still have the drops from the last time around….. you know from 1.5 weeks ago. I know from experience I will only be down for about 4-5 days(not 10) because my eyes heal fast. Mothering is wonderful!!!!!

I feel like I should add that Brielle felt terrible. She cried and cried. I really tried to reassure her I wasn’t mad at her. I know it was completely an accident and she would never hurt me on purpose.

I feel like I should also add the craziness that these freak accidents have happened to me twice now. This kind of stuff never happens to me, only Brandon. I mean come on a turkey through the windshield?  It usually only happens to Brandon. I guess we’ve been married too long.

If anyone wants to visit me during my time of grumpy moping I will provide you with a pair of safety goggles before you enter.
