Here is a quick update on family life lately. We are taking a break from RVing. The RV is being looked at by the original manufacturer in Indiana. Because of all the issues we are having, they are giving it a thorough look through. They are going to either fix it or replace it. The break from RVing has been very refreshing and relaxing for me. We’ve been trying to work ahead in school to stay ahead of the game for when traveling picks up again.
Here is some of our reading materials we’ve been working through along with the workbooks. I love these books. They are short easy lessons that the kids can comprehend, especially Joah. He is really learning a lot. Along with growing academically, I’m really trying to teach character development. I have some great materials that help the kids understand the basics of the gospel, and that teach about good character with Bible verses that go along with the lesson.
I am trying to get the kids caught up on doctor appointments, dentist appointments, immunizations, and socializing with their friends. We’ve been going to Story Hour and dance class every week. Those are some of the things they lack when we travel.

Isla turned one on october 9th. We had a big birthday party for her. She is very loved and such a blessing to us.
Brandon is making great progress on the playhouse. He’s been working really hard. My favorite part is the bay window. It really adds a lot and looks adorable.
It’s almost ready for paint, then the inside work needs done. Now this isn’t going to be an ordinary playhouse. Brandon is putting a loft upstairs with carpet, and a laminate floor downstairs. He is building a kitchen with cabinets. This house will get so much play. Brielle can have play dates and even the boys will enjoy it. Brandon has plans to build the boys a treehouse next year.
Joah has been working hard to get his school done early so he can work outside with his dad.
Brandon took Brielle hunting a couple nights ago. It was her very first time going. She has been begging to go, and Brandon decided to take her. I was worried she couldn’t sit still or would have to pee. I deprived her of liquids and it all worked out nicely.
She got a deer. A spike came in and she begged to take him. Brandon held the crossbow and Brielle pulled the trigger.
Is anyone else as grossed out by this as I am? Ewe! Joah was very sweet. He kept telling Brielle how proud of her he was. He did make sure to remind me that “Brielle only pulled he trigger. I held and aimed the crossbow completely by myself without dad’s help.”
I myself nailed a deer last night, unfortunately not from hunting. She ran right in front of me. I slammed on the breaks, but it was pointless. It was right in downtown Bad Axe where I wasn’t expecting to see a deer. We still have the towing bars hooked up to the suburban from towing it behind the RV. Just to give you all the graphic details, the deer splattered EVERYWHERE. I wasn’t even going very fast. It was so disturbing. I called Brandon and said “good news is I didn’t do any damage other than the missing Chevy sign.” I got home and realized I was very very wrong. Every internal fan is destroyed. The good news is all of us are ok. I had all the kids with me. We are so thankful for God’s protection. Joah goes “mom, that has to be a doe. Bucks are much smarter than that.” Brielle goes “mom, you might want to run through the car wash before you show dad.”
And here are some random pictures….
