My heart is heavy today for Brandon’s Extended family. His second cousin, Sadie was only ten years old. Just like that her family is without her. They obviously had no idea that when their daughter ran out the door, that would be the last time they would ever see her alive. It really puts things in perspective for me. Even on really bad days, my life isn’t so bad. I am so very very blessed!!! They celebrated Sadie’s life this morning with her memorial service. Praying and holding up the Turnbaugh family today. I can’t even imagine their pain. God be near to the broken hearted, and break our hearts for what breaks Yours.
We made it to Chicago last evening. This is the final destination of this trip. We are spending the last couple days here. Brandon has several store trainings. We are tagging along so we are able to do some sight seeing things between and after trainings.

When the parking lots are pretty empty and not busy with traffic coming in and out, I let the kids run around. It’s so much easier than trying to drive them somewhere and make it back before the end of Brandon’s training. These kids have more energy than most kids, and behave so much better if they can get some exercise. I have done some creative things before, like offering $1 to whoever can climb a flight of steps the most times. Brielle has turned a stair rail into a tumbling bar and done flips and balanced on it. We have gotten some interesting looks from landscape workers who are working nearby. I’ve avtually come a long ways in not caring what others think of us. I mean you try to keep these four kids contained inside a vehicle for 1.5 hours landscape workers.

This girl is only four days from her first birthday. How.In.The.World? This year has flown by quicker than with any of the other babies. I can’t even believe it.
Brandon picked up these for us. We couldn’t drive through Wisconsin and not get any. I should mention Brandon has not cheated this trip even one time. He has eaten out two times and ordered fish both times. The kids and I had these all to ourselves. I overheard this conversation.
Joah: “oh I love cheese curds. They smell like feet, but they don’t taste like feet. They taste like cheese.”
At this point I jumped in “how do you know what a foot tastes like?”
Joah: “everyone knows what a foot tastes like, mom. It’s just one of those things we all know deep in our hearts.”
Thank you Joah for all of your wisdom!
