Life as a Yowler

Our first stop along the way was Lexington, Ohio. Brandon had a meeting in amish country and we stayed a couple extra days so he could do some hunting. Brandon grew up in Ohio and a lot of his cousins have kids our kids age. I love when my kids can play with their cousins. They don’t have any first cousins, but they have lots and lots of second cousins.

The boys got to ride up town in golf carts to get ice cream cones. They thought it was too cool to ride in a golf cart and not a car.

I took Isla to go visit Brandon’s grandparents. Brandon came too after he was done hunting. Grandma loves babies. She raised four of them. I should mention that she had 4 babies in 27months(with 1 set of twins being in there). Every time I get overwhelmed with my kids, I think of Grandma having basically four babies at one time, and my life doesn’t seem as overwhelming.

Bethany took Brielle for a couple days. She got to do some really fun things with her aunt. The last time Bethany took the kids, Brielle asked her if she could come without the boys next time. This weekend was the perfect opportunity for Brielle to go and spend one on one time with her Aunt. She got to go to the American Girl store in Columbus. She got to go out to eat at a really cool Tiki Grass Skirt restaraunt. She got to go to the park. She also got to love/smother Bethany’s two cats all weekend.

Grandma took the two boys to The Buckeye Museum the day that Brandon had his meeting in Amish Country. Isla and I tagged along and we went shopping at Lehman’s after the meeting. Lehman’s is a big store with very unique and Amishy things. I got an Apple peeler because my old one broke from too much use. We got Joah a boomerang and a root beer. His old boomerang got lost at a campground. One of his friends threw it and it got stuck on the top of a camper.

After Brielle got back from Bethany’s, she got to have a tea party with her cousin Charlie. Brandon’s Aunt Sue is so creative and good with the kids. She has had them over for a couple tea parties and they love going so much.

We had a cousin play date/pizza party while Brandon hunted.

Brielle is a little bit of a crazy cat lady. She didn’t put the cats down the entire night. Poor poor cats.

And now we are off to Minnesota…..with the hungriest kids in the entire world. I mean seriously, they have eaten NON stop since we left. Sometimes I am shocked by how little they eat. When they are enclosed in an RV they become the most famished little bottomless pits I have ever met in my entire life. I am finding myself asking Brandon constantly….are we there yet?
