Today is an example of Brandon’s spontaneousness. I decided to drive the kids to the shop today after rest time to get out of the house. We got carried away, as we always do. We stayed too long. It got to be 5:00 and I told Brandon I was about to go home and start dinner, so we would be eating late. He says “let’s go to Taco Bell instead.” Wonderful! I hate Taco Bell. I was dressed like a total scrub, I mean worse than the normal mother look. I had no makeup and no wedding ring on. I know I’m being a little brat, but it matches my attitude at what was about to take place.
We let all of Taco Bell know we had arrived before we entered the building. Brielle facesmacked into the glass door. The entire reataraunt looked over. I laughed…..hard. Brielle did not handle the embarrassment well. She isn’t loud or dramatic or anything. Well hello all of Taco Bell.
Brandon was on the phone when we entered, so that left me to order everything and watch the four kids too, without strangling anyone. I managed.
Everyone was SO loud and not behaving throughout the meal. People were having emotional breakdowns. People were complaining about food. People were fighting over chairs. I shoved a bunch of extremely unheathy food down them and they all perked up. Then Joah spilled his entire cup of water. It went all over him, all over Brandon, all over the lady sitting next to him, and all over the floor. Luckily the lady was very nice. Even with not drinking much water, Joah still managed to need to pee three times throughout the meal.
Just as things were starting to turn around and people were behaving better and I was getting more confident in my role as mother, Caed pipes up loudly. “Mom I just farted. It smells a little bit,” he says. Now Caed has the most adorable lisp, and I was hopeful no one understood him. The smiles and laughs coming from everyone indicated otherwise.
Welcome to our zoo, people. Those very true friends that have stuck with us through four kids…we thank you and we love you!!!!
