Every Summer we head to my parents cottage for a couple days during the Cheesuburger festival in Caseville.
I have so many great memories here. I’m thankful my kids have the opportunity to make memories here as well. Some of you know that around 18 years ago, my parents’ cottage burned down. I’m so thankful they rebuilt.
We did lots of swimming.
The kids found some logs and were using them as rafts.
From the top to the bottom….here are my messy little monsters.

Isla doesn’t understand “No no! Don’t eat sand!” earning her some time in the stroller.
We had some friends join us over the weekend.
We went up town to get burgers. We were planning to take them back to the cottage to eat to avoid the craziness of the festival. We changed our minds once we got there. Honestly, it was very mellow and calm. There weren’t many people there. We chose Rachel’s cheeseburger stand. There was live music and the environment was very family friendly.

We snuck away during our little vacation to go freeze corn with my family. We do it together every Summer.
The oldest two kids were very helpful this year.
The youngest two…..not so much.

What a great little mini vacation we had at the cottage. It’s just close enough to home that Brandon could still go to work every day. It’s far enough away, though that I didn’t want to drive home. I stayed with the kids and we enjoyed the lake and the sand. We had an awesome time, although after our entire time there, I still couldn’t convince Caed that crocodiles don’t live in Lake Huron.
