Oatman, Arizona

We are staying at a campground in Needles, California. My mom flew in to the Las Vegas airport today. After we picked her up we drove over to Oatman, a tiny little town in the middle of nowhere where you can feed wild burrows. We did a Gascho family vacation to Lake Havasu back when I was pregnant with Joah. While we were in Havasu, we visited Oatman. We all loved feeding the wild burrows. We knew our kids would love visiting and feeding them too. We decided to take them after getting grandma from the airport.

IMG_8584.JPGIsla didn’t mind the donkeys coming up and licking her head. She didn’t even flinch.

IMG_8593.JPGWe walked around and looked at all the little shops.

IMG_8590.JPGIMG_8586.JPGWe let the kids each get a bag off food for the donkeys. Caed did not want to feed them. He didn’t want anything to do with those donkeys.

IMG_8589.JPGThe one donkey grabbed the paper bag right out of Brielle’s hand and ate the bag too.

IMG_8594.JPGWe ate at a restaraunt with $1 bills covering all the walls. The kids were so impressed. Joah said, “wow they must be rich.”

IMG_8605.JPGWhen we went to leave, I was bending over strapping kids into car seats. I wasn’t paying any attention, when all the sudden I felt these cold wet lips on my forehead. This dude decided to kiss me.  It took me really by surprise and totally startled me. I yelled, “Brandon!” Well that just got the donkey all excited. He called all his friends over and they started invading our suburban.

IMG_8602.JPGI could not get them away from the door. They were helping themselves to the animal crackers we had in the vehicle. joah and Brielle were so excited. Caed was ticked. He was very upset over his animal crackers being eaten. Brandon had to come chase them away and put an end to their party.

We drove back to Needles on Route 66
