The thing about California that has surprised me the most is the weather. I always thought it was really hot here. It turns out it’s actually pretty cool. There’s no humidity and there’s a lot of wind. The hottest it got was 80, but it didn’t feel like it. The average temp was around 70 degrees. The thing that surprised Brandon the most….there’s no phone calls allowed while driving. How did he find that out you ask? Well let’s just say he got pulled over for that reason. The officer let him off with a warning. He said, “just don’t talk on your cell phone while you’re in California.” Joah pipes up, “oh boy. That’s gonna be really really hard for my dad. He talks on his phone literally all the time.”
Lake Tahoe was one of the prettiest places I’ve ever seen. We’ve seen a lot of beautiful country this trip. Tahoe is one of my highlights.
Our drive to the campground was intense. RV driving through the mountains is really tough. Even with a diesel, the turns are so sharp. They were all I chose not to watch out the windows. The drop offs were just too much for my anxiety levels. I was getting really carsick. Just as I was like “boy. Good thing I’m not pregnant or I would be puking everywhere,” Caed puked everywhere. Poor guy was carsick. He immediately felt better. I was thankful at that moment for the washer and dryer right in the motor home ready to use while driving. The kids got really hungry so I decided to whip up a pan of goulash….. Absolutely brilliant timing on my part. The pan was getting tossed everywhere. I had to literally stand there holding it still while it was cooking. I was very thankful to make it to the campground. Caed ate 3 bowls of goulash, so he definitely wasn’t sick….just car sick.
Once we were settled into camp we drove up to Lake Tahoe to walk around.

I love this picture because it shows her two little teeth.
We let the kids run around at the playground for awhile.
we found the biggest pinecones.
Brielle was excited to find some huge dandelions.
It was a fun evening. Everyone slept like rocks.
