The average person has a tough time being stormed in and cooped up inside all weekend. The mom of 4 Yowler kids with only one of four unable to move, really has a tough time. These kids’ energy is just out of this world. If they have no outdoor time to get their craziness out, things like this happen.
It’s Isla’s ball but since she’s the one out of four who is immobile, it’s unlikely that it was her who did this. No one else seems to be fessing up though.
We went camping in Frankenmuth Friday to try out the new RV and figure out how everything works before we take it on a long trip. We were somewhat in denial that an ice storm was coming, since its mid April. Get it together Michigan! Brandon’s dad joined us and we had a great time together.

The kids built a fort.

Joah are an entire bag of snap peas.

Isla partied too hard.
We went out to eat at The Brewery, our favorite restaraunt in Frankenmuth.
Unfortunately, the ice storm really did happen. Our time with Grandpa was cut short. He decided to leave for home in Ohio Saturday morning. He had obligations on Monday, and couldn’t get stranded here. We then decided to leave the campground and go back to our house just in case we lost power. We didn’t want a flooded basement. Brandon drove the motor home. I followed him in the Suburban with all four kids. It was a scary ride home. The closer we got to home, the worse the roads got. Brandon said it was his scariest drive he’s done yet in the motor home, and he’s driven through mountains without a diesel. He got blown around a lot. He was only going 25mph. At one point he got blown into the other lane, and he thought he was gonna lose control. We were so thankful to make it home. We were thrilled when we still had power at our house. Not everyone is as fortunate as us, and several of our friends lost power.
We were cooped up inside the rest of the day Saturday. It was a tough day with the kids. Sometimes they are wonderful. Sometimes they are a handful. This weekend was hard. Everyone is still trying to recoup from the last trip and prepare for another. Brandon and I are exhausted. We wish the kids were too.
I pulled out the water beads. It occupied them for at least 10 minutes maybe even 12.

We read some stories, took baths, colored, played in the basement, bounced off the walls, broke up fights, ate snacks….lots and lots of snacks, and survived until bedtime.
Today, Sunday, church got canceled. We slept in and headed to the RV at the shop to get everything we forgot and get out of the house. I had some trash I brought to throw in the dumpster at the shop. When I opened the trunk it was so nasty and windy. Trash started blowing everywhere. Brilliantly, I ran and chased it. I totally ate it. I wiped out bad. I’m fine other than being sore. I was glad no one was around to see other than the kids. I was covered in snow and water from the fall. It wasn’t pretty.
We had a nice little visit with Otis and Goatis in the barn at the shop.
Brandon got some work done with a special helper.
We are ready for Spring, but thankful for a warm house and electricity.
