Edited: I decided to repost this blog post from awhile ago. Rather then put together another series of pictures that show the motor home, I figured I would do this instead. I had a couple people ask for pictures of storage.
We made a family decision to trade in our old RV for a new one. It wasn’t an easy decision. Joah and I both got a little emotional giving up the old one. We have SO many memories in there. There are several reasons why we decided to upgrade. The main reason is that we really need a diesel. If we are planning to continue to travel with Brandon, we will be going all over America and that includes lots of mountains. The old unit just couldn’t handle the mountains while towing. Another reason for trading was getting gas will be MUCH easier. Trying to pull that beast up to a regular gas pump was almost impossible sometimes.
Remember this? This was at about my breaking point.
Another reason we traded was for some more space. This new unit has so much storage. It sleeps ten. When the RV is parked it is huge. It has a slide out on both sides which makes for lots of space. It has two bathrooms. It’s six feet longer than the last RV. It has lots of storage outside down below. We can take as many bikes, yard toys, beach toys, etc. as we want.
With this upgrade we have committed to the lifestyle of traveling along with Brandon as he works. This means homeschooling for us. Joah will officially be in Kindergarten this Fall. This was not at all an easy decision. I have really been praying and debating what the right thing for our family is. I have a lot of close friends who are amazing teachers. I respect and admire how they teach and love kids. There are so many benefits to public school. I didn’t have a peace about homeschooling even last year. I feel so much more at peace about the decision this year. I felt strongly like God told me 5 years. Joah will be in 5th grade in 5 years. I feel like for our family, this is the right decision. The priveledge of traveling and experiencing the world is so educational. The bonding and unity our family experienced on our last trip can’t be replaced. These years go so so fast that the kids are with us. We want to invest into our family and continue to build memories and experiences. Those are the things we will all remember. I’m glad I did my trial year of homeschooling this year for preschool. It went much better than I anticipated. I actually found it was helpful for keeping kids out of trouble. When they are kept busy they can’t get into things they shouldn’t.

With that all being said come and take a tour of our new RV with us.

The view from the front of the RV

The table. Don’t you love the baby seat under? That’s just our life right now.
There are two cupboards above the table that I put movies in. We don’t watch movies other than when we’re driving down the road that’s when they’re nice to have. When we are parked at a campground we are outside most of the time.

The couch is right behind the driver’s seat. I love the cupboards above the couch. I was able to put all the kids story books, games, puzzles, activity books, and playdoh inside. I’ll have easy access to all that driving down the road.
I’m in love with the kitchen. It has so much more storage than the last one.
It even has a cutting board.
The sink is much bigger than the last.
So is the fridge.
The microwave/convection oven
There are two pantries. One has this pull out shelf.
Here is the other.
Joah and Brielle have bunk beds. To say they are excited is an understatement. They were blessed as the firstborns so they get to claim the beds. I’m sure when Caed and Isla grow, there might be some arguing over the bunks.
The bunks have privacy curtains. The kids are so excited. There were times on the last trip that the kids wanted a little space. Everyone is on top of each other in a motor home. It’s nice they have an area they can call their own. Everyone needs a little alone time and this is their little bedroom away from home.
This is the part that is absolutely rediculous. Each bunk has its own tv with its own DVD player. That means no more fights over who picks the movie, but that also means some spoiled kids.
Here is Brandon and my bed in the back bedroom.
The storage in the back bedroom.
The tv opens.

The kids clothes.
Our bathroom in the back. We are excited about two sinks.
The bathroom has two pull out cupboards.
The kids bathroom.
There’s a tub shower which I’m so excited about for the kids.
The washer and dryer are bigger.
There is a loft bed that comes down above the driver and passenger seats.
The passenger seat turns around and also reclines which I’m pumped about.
we are so blessed and we really look forward to creating new memories in this motor home!!!
