New Smyrna Beach and Decision Night at Camp

Yesterday was another beach day at YFC camp.

IMG_6231.JPGCaed still was hesitant to go in the ocean. He played the entire time with sand toys and buckets. I’ve made up my mind when I get home to make one of those sensory sand boxes for him. It will occupy him for hours.

IMG_6230.JPGBrielle loves the sand too. Joah is way too high energy to sit around and play in the sand. He was out in the ocean boogie boarding with Brandon for most of the time.

IMG_6236.JPGI did manage to get one picture of him. We saw the cutest little crab on the beach. I didn’t take a picture, but the kids were so excited. He was crawling all over the beach and drew a huge crowd.

IMG_6241.JPGBrielle did much better boogie boarding yesterday. The waves were much smaller than cocoa beach.

IMG_6238.JPGHow cute are these two little friends? We get asked a lot if they’re twins.

IMG_6292Last evening’s session was decision night for the youth. The gospel message was presented. There was a very positive response. The Holy Spirit moved in a powerful way. Many students responded to various areas where they have encountered storms in their lives. A lot of staff members and volunteers shared their own personal storms in their lives, making for a very emotional and impactful testimony. We’re very honored to be used as vessels to share the message of Jesus Christ. Our prayer for the students is that they will continue to walk with Jesus and learn and grow daily.

IMG_6303.JPGBrandon had Caed come up last night for a minute during his message. He told a funny story as an ice breaker. We’ve been driving my parents van around this entire trip. They only have 1 movie in the van, Annie. We’ve watched it about 50 times. Yesterday we caught Caed picking up a broom and sweeping, dancing, and singing “Its a hard knock life.” It was hilarious and one of those you really have to see it for yourself moments. With his little Caed lisp he was singing “rotten smelly life” and we were dying. unfortunately he wouldn’t reenact it last night for the youth. He was too embarrassed.

Joah has been glued to uncle Grant’s side since we’ve been here. He loves to hang with the big boys.

IMG_6299.JPGYesterday was also my dad’s birthday. Back home in Michigan he doesn’t have much family around. We are here in Florida. My two youngest brothers are here too at camp. My mom is in Sarasota, FL. So Katie Ziel was nice enough to decorate the office for his birthday. She took pictures of all the animals in the barn and made this display. How creative is that?
