In the RV Again

We are back in the RV again. Thank you Lord. I’ll just say it’s a good thing we aren’t the bad review writing type. We were not impressed with our RV repair service. We understand how difficult running a buisness is. Rumors get started. People don’t understand things. People assume things. People can be unreasonable and demanding. People are always looking to point blame, and that blame usually falls back on the company. We get it. All that being said, this RV place could really use some better communication. Four times we showed up and our RV wasn’t fixed. The one time we were reassured it was fixed, so I left the RV place in the van. I drove the van back to the campground with all the kids during rush hour. It took 45 minutes. Only to get a call once I reached camp to turn around and come get Brandon. They weren’t done with the RV after all. We told them several times we needed the RV to be completed by today. It was the very last day we could wait. They reassured us it would be. We waited til noon to get it to make sure they could do any final touches this morning. We got there and it hadn’t been touched. Brandon asked that they fix it so we could leave. They told us the guy working on it was at lunch but he would fix it when he got back. We went out to eat at chic fil a and took our time. We let the kids play in the play place. We wanted to make sure the rv would be completed. Two hours later we went to pick it up. It wasn’t touched. The guy was never even informed after his lunch break to go fix it. Brandon went and got a manager at that point. He wasn’t mean at all. We didn’t want to treat anyone disrespectfully. We just needed to get on the road. Brandon stayed inside the RV and literally watched him work to make sure it would get done.  He actually helped the guy. They worked together. When it was fixed, the guy asked Brandon if he wanted a card. Brandon said, “nope. I’m just being real I’m never coming back.” 🤣 The guy laughed. Everyone was actually very nice. They just must have some terrible communication in their buisiness. I’m just so thankful we have the RV back. I’m also extremely thankful for General RV back in Birch Run. We always go to them and they are amazing. They have great customer service and we’ve never had any issues with the problems not being resolved before we pick it up. Like I said we understand that running a buisiness is difficult. It was just too unreal how many times they messed up.

Literally when you are traveling by motor home, you are at the repair shop’s mercy. If your home breaks down, it’s just that….your home. We would have had to get a hotel if the camp didn’t have any cabins available. We preferred to stay at the camp so the kids could run around outside and ride bikes. It all worked out.

We are almost to our next destination In Baton Rouge. Poor Brandon is exhausted. What was supposed to be a quick pick up turned into a 5 hour nightmare at the RV place. After we finally got it, we had a 5 hour drive ahead of us. Tomorrow will be a very early morning for him after a late night of driving. It’s definitely not all vacation. There is a lot of work involved for Brandon. Overall he has remained very positive. He values this time with his family, and would rather go through the extra work then leave us behind. For that I’m thankful!

The poor kids have pretty much been cooped up all day. They’ve done very well overall. I promised them tomorrow I would make sure they get some outside time.
