West Monroe, Louisiana-Duck Commander

Brandon’s store training today was in West Monroe, so we all tagged along and went to the Duck Commander attractions. We went to the warehouse. Here is the famous sign featured in the beginning of each show.

IMG_5422We walked around the store and picked out some souvenirs. We were really hoping to meet someone from The Robertson family, but we knew the chance was slim that they would be there. We found out from one of the workers at the store that the duck calls are all made at a different location, and they no longer offer tours. So we just shopped around for awhile. Brandon let both boys get a duck call. Thank you Brandon. We did tell them not to blow too hard or you might break it. Joah is taking us seriously, but Caed doesn’t understand.

The girls each got a shirt.

There were some cool things to see in the store.

IMG_5434.JPGIMG_5441When we were done at the store we went and ate lunch at Willie’s Duck Diner. It had very good food. Most items of food were named after a family member. We thought for sure one of the brothers was there because when we pulled up there was a brand new Lexus lC500 parked right out front. We didn’t see anyone so we asked our waitress. She said she can’t confirm or deny. There was a room in the back with closed doors. Who knows. It’s possible one of them was there, but they never made an appearance.

IMG_5451.JPGJoah realized he loved duck. We ended up ordering him another side of it. He was asking for more.

IMG_5446.JPGThe kids all wanted to keep their cups.

IMG_5456I captured this sweet moment.

After the restaraunt we went to Miss Kay’s bakery. The workers told us she hasn’t been in much lately because she’s been sick. So we didn’t get to meet her. I was really impressed by the bakery. It was a very nice atmosphere.

IMG_5468.JPGIMG_5472.JPGWe ate our dessert outside. There was a huge patio area with seats and tables. There was also a hanging swing that the kids loved. Joah wants one for his bedroom.

It was a fun day. Unfortunately our RV still isn’t done. It is supposed to be by tomorrow. I sure hope so. We had to drive 2 hours to the store training today, so we really need to move on to the next campground. I’m thankful for this moble home and I’m thankful for this campground. They have been so willing to work with us and help us. I’m praying our RV is done tomorrow and the rest of the trip goes smoothly.

Brielle asked me today if Isla has any lips. I said “yes she does. Don’t you see them on her face?” She said, “but why mom? She doesn’t talk and she never eats crunchy foods.” Ahhh ….the deep questions of a four year old  🤣
